Cataline Stout born 1839 in Mississppi married James G Hampton on 2 Mar 1856 Sevier Co Arkansas, both living in Sevier County. They moved to Texas by 1857 and had 3 children (that I know of): MW born 1857, Mary Elizabeth 1859 and JW 1961. James joined the CSA and was killed in Sep 1863 defending the Sabine Pass. Cataline then married Elias Teague. By 1910, she is living with daughter Mary and her husband in Nolan County, TX.

Mary married John Bell "JB" Clack in abt 1876 and in later years wrote of her young life in a few self-published books, using the pen name Mary Hampton Clack. The books are extremely rare. One book was reprinted in 1979 as PIONEER DAYS: TWO VIEWS. Their children were: Francis B "Fannie", Ben, General Wade Hampton, Anna V "Annie", Foush Pollard Clack and Belle.

It's possible Cataline may have had another husband FNU Wilson. The "W" of MW and JW could possibly be WILSON.

Any info on Cataline Stout and others named would be greatly appreciated. Hope this info will help someone. Thanks!
