Melodee,

I am interested in the Humphreys who lived in Sevier County during the mid-1800s. My great-grandmother was Mary Elizabeth Humphreys who married Gabriel Maddox. Supposedly she was born in Georgia, part Indian, had previously been married to a Mr. Moren and had two children, Sam and Anna. Don't know what happened to them. Gabe and Mary Elizabeth are buried in Marvin Cemetery just outside Foreman.

Would you check and see if she is listed in Mr. Humphreys' other family?

Thanks,

Molly Dixon
