Marshall, Searcy, Arkansas Delk family
Posted by: Carol Wilson (ID *****4680) Date: January 21, 2011 at 17:15:15

I know that George Washington Delk raised his family here and after his death, his wife and children petitioned for the land.

It was here in 1870 that their son Jacob D. lived with his first wife, Rebecca who was considerably older than he. He is listed as age 23 and she was listed as age 41. It is believed she gave birth to a son, Edward in 1873. In January of 1880 Jacob is married to Salina M. Painter and has a son, Edward, listed on the 1880 census that is around 3 years of age and living in Crane Creek, Barry, Missouri. I am trying to find out if Rebecca died in childbirth and what cemetery she is buried in.

Thanking you in advance,
Carol
