Errol, John L. Redman Sr., sometimes spelled (Redmon), was born 1807 in South Carolina. Can't find any record of him being married to anyone except, Mary (Polly) Matthews. Where did you get the name Lillie? My 1860 census of Searcy Co., AR. shows his wife to be Mary (Polly). John L. Redman Sr. died sometime before 1870 and is buried in Bear Creek Cemetery, Searcy Co., Arkansas. Mary (Polly)Matthews was born about 1808 in Kentucky. She was married first to a Riley Brown. They were married in 1831 in Ky. They had at least 3 children. You will find them listed in the 1850 census of Searcy Co., AR. with the 2 Redman children, but their last name is Brown. The name Nancy Heflin, in the 1860 census, I believe, has actually been printed again with the Redman family by mistake. If you will notice, the family listed prior to the Redmans, is Henry Heflin with wife Nancy, age 26, born in TN. Mary Polly died 13 Sept. 1877 in Searcy Co. and is buried in Sulpher Springs Cemetery, Searcy Co., AR. If you need names of children and other info., just e-mail me. I was born in Searcy Co., AR. (but it wasn't yesterday) I am not related to this family, but have a lot of information on Searcy Co. Families. Bob Ruff
