While doing research on my Harness line I found the family of William and Sarah Barnes Harness in the 1850 Van Buren County AR census. They are misindexed under the name "Harris" To add to the confusion the census taker finished Union Township in the middle of a page. He continued on to War Eagle Township on the same page with no note of the change. Therefore William Harris/Harness who is the last person on the page is listed as living in Union Township rather than War Eagle where he belongs. He is household number 82 on the last page of Union Township. On the first page of War Eagle Township is Sarah Harris/Harness, John W Age 9, Julina age 8, Perlina A age 7, Sarah E age 6, Luana age 2.All these children were born in TN. There is no household number for Sarah because she is part of household 82 which was William. Household number 83 is Thomas Harris/Harness age 25, Rebecca Harris/Harness age 25 and Sarah Barnes age 76.
Rebecca Barnes and Sarah Barnes were sisters and I believe William and Thomas Harness were brothers.
