I am looking for information on the Henley-Barnett Feud that happened in Searcy County. My mother's family is from Searcy County. My uncle had told me a little about the story, but I haven't been able to locate hardly any information on it. I've been curious about the story for years. The event was supposed to have occured during the early half of the 20th century and involved a shooting in Marshall, Arkansas. I read that the National Guard had to be called out to subdue the hostilities.
My mother is Marcella Watts Azamber, the daughter of Rufus Watts and Elizabeth Harness Watts. She lived on Bear Creek and still has fond memories of her mountain home and the people that she knew. I would also be happy to hear from anyone who is related to us.
