Rankin Sisk

Gloria, I think that Rankin Sisk and Sarah Rose, may have been the parents of Eliza Jane Sisk who married William Harrison Ramsey, as they had a son they named William Rankin Ramsey. I have some history on the Ramsey family as my children's paternal grandmothers were Ramseys. The Tilleys, Ramseys, Sisks, Reeces, and Roses intermarried quite a bit. I have some on the Roses also as John Columbus Tilley III was my children's grandfather. I think all the Sisks who married into the Rose family were related, maybe siblings, cousins, at least. There is a Brendan Sisk who has copied the entire Irish Civil Records index of Sisk names in Ireland from 1864 to 1990 and says he will be glad to do a lookup for anyone. He has also searched most of the E. Cork and Cork City records. He can be reached at brensisk@gofree.indigo.ie and his website is at http://brnesisik.tripod.com/. There is also a Sisk Web Site created by Sandra D. Mize for all researchers of the Sisks at www.genealogy.com/users/s/i/s/Karen-Lynn-Sisk I haven't tried either of these resources yet. There is also a quite expensive book that can be purchased titled: Sisk: Book of Ages (1998) by Charleta J. Sisk Dunn published by Higginson Book Co., 148 Washington St., Salem, Ma. 01970. Price is $179 hardcove, $159, softcover, plus s&h with a 8-12 wk. delivery Their phone no. is 978-745-7170/ Ref. ISB #0-8328-9580-6 (hardcover) #0-8328-9581-4 (soft). She is from Tx. and her father began researching the Sisk family before he died and she has researched the fmily back as far as 1709. Personally, I will exhaust all other means before I spend that much for the book. Just thought I ought to let you know. If you're interested in any of the info I have, I'll send it to you. jinnyemk@aol.com
