I'm looking for Adolphus "Dolf" Crittendon.
I found an Adolphus Crittenden on the 1860 Panola Co., MS.
Then on the 1870 census there was an A. C. Crittenden
listed in Saint Francis County, Arkansas. (These two counties are not too far from one another.) On this 1870 census of Saint Francis County, his age is 24 and birthplace is MS. His wife is listed as Delia (24/MS) and a daughter listed as Mary (infant/AR). Haven't found them on the 1880 census.
I was hoping that they would be a possible match as the parents for Benjamin Franklin Crittendon out of Brinkley AR.
On Benjamin Crittendon's death certificate, his father is listed as Adolphus "Dolf".
Benjamin Crittendon also had a daughter named Mary Delia.
Same names as A. C. Crittendon's wife and daughter.
Somehow, Benjamin was orphaned along with a brother named John William Crittendon. If the parents somehow died suddenly, I was hoping that they might be buried in this county. Also, if they owned land, there might be a land record on file in the courthouse
The Crittenden boys were both born in the early 1870's in Arkansas. They left Brinkley, Monroe County, AR
for Fayette & Bastrop County, Texas in the early 1880's with
Alexander and Viola Parr-Jerrells.
If anyone is familiar with the history of St Francis or Monroe County and have heard of the Crittendon's either as a cemetery listing or a land record. I would enjoy hearing from you.
