Where was Pettit school (circa 1941)

I have an obit I found today at the Randolph County Library for George A. Henley. It states that he died at his home "near Pettit school". Does anyone have a clue where that was? I am assuming it was in the county (as opposed to being in Pocahontas), but not sure if it equates to an actual location (which town was it near).
Thanks in advance.

Glenn Hoyt
