Hello,
I am searching for information regarding John Pierce born 1760 to 1770 in VA and died 1833 in Arkansas. (Will probated Jan. 1834.) He married Hannah (location unknown) and had the following children:
1. Melinda Pierce married Asa Baker
2. Lewis Pierce born TN married Alsey/Elsey
3. Abigail Pierce who married Hugh Davlin
4. Hawkins Pierce who married Nancy Tucker and Sarah Morton
5. Hugh Pierce
6. Nancy Pierce
7. Delilah Pierce who married a Mr. Hadlock
8. Levina/Vina Pierce who married James Cochran
9. Ervin Pierce
10. John Pierce
Note: Ervin and John Pierce are minors at the time of their father's will dated December 12, 1833. The will mentions property of BLACK RIVER, AR.
John shows up in various court records from 1815 to 1830 providing "Securities." Does anyone know exactly what that means???
In 1835 Hannah Pearce is listed as marrying David Duprey in Lawrence County, Arkansas. Note: She may have been born in TN.
Various books mention the Pierce family as "original settlers" but none of them provide any info as to where John Pierce was from, or how he ended up in Arkansas. His name appears near Supply, Randolph County and in Lawrence County, AR.
This is my brick wall, so any and all help would be greatly appreciated!
