Hi, My great grandfather was John R. (Richard) Lewis he was born around Feb. of 1864 in Missouri, USA. On the census that I have him on, it says that his father was from Kentucky, USA. He married Sarah Frances Snider on October 23, 1900. She was born in Dunklin CO., MO, USA in 1869. Her father was Benjamin Franklin Snider. He came to MO from Massac Co., ILL, USA. John and Sarah Lewis had two daughters, Gracie Agnes Lewis, born April 13, 1903, in Campbell, Dunklin CO., MO, USA. and Bessie Lennie Lewis, born Feb. 24, 1906 in Pocahontas, AR, USA. John and his daughters are living in Clay Co., AR, Pollard Twp, in 1910. They were living in the same place on the 1920 census. On the 1930 census, he is living in Butler Co., MO in Qulin. He is living next door to his daughter, Bessie and her family. I was told that Sarah Snider Lewis, died giving birth to Bessie, who was my grandmother. Gracie Agnes Lewis married Leonard Boyd Vinson in Oct. of 1919 in Dunklin Co., MO, USA. they lived there all their lives.Gracie Agnes went by Agnes. She died in 185o in Campbell., MO, USA Leonard Vinson was born in DeQueen, Sevier Co., MO, USA and died in Jan of 1976 in Dunklin Co., MO, USA. Bessie Lennie Lewis married William (Willis) McKinley Brown on April 16, 1922, in MacDougal, Clay Co., AR, USA.
John Richard Lewis remarried after Sarah's death to a Cricket Hayes/Underwood. He had a son, Wilburn and another daughter, Opal Irene.I hope that someone will know of Sarah and her husband, John Lewis. Thanks
