Hi Carol,

I have just seen your Dorcas Looney posting on this Randolph County, AR forum. Are you content with the information you have received so far, or are you still in need of help?

For many years, I have collected documentation on my Looney and Stubblefield ancestors from Randolph County, AR, as well as Oregon and Ripley Counties, MO.

From my Looney and Stubblefield book, I have Joseph Looney married Theney/Thena Stubblefield. I have a notarized copy of their marriage license. For Joseph and Thena, I have four children: William Stubblefield Looney, Margaret called Peggy Looney, Jonathan Looney, and Dorcas Looney. Dorcas was born in 1821 and married William Nettles. Dorcas married November 3, 1842, and she died February 24, 1858. Coleman Stubblefield was made guardian of Dorcas and Jonathan Looney after their father, Joseph, died. Coleman Stubblefield was brother of Thena Stubblefield Looney.

My ancestor Rhoda Stubblefield and your ancestor Thena Stubblefield were sisters.

I have written a book about my William Looney and Rhoda Stubblefield line and plan to publish it upon returning to CONUS (Continental United States).

Many Looney and Stubblefield family histories abound on the Internet. They are all your lines. You just need to plug in at your branch.

Let me know how far along you have progressed in your search. I would love to be able to include your current history in my book.

Chris Lacey Moyer
