Hi Louis-
Levi Helms is my great grandfather-how strange to meet you online when I've never met you in person!I used to go to Glaze Creek Cemetery all the time to visit Levi's grave-we lived on property that bordered Glaze Creek, just a mile or so from the church. To answer the question about the church building-it was abandoned a number of years ago and stayed in pretty good shape through most of my youth-but then it was vandalized.I have no idea if it is even still standing. However, the last time I visited the cemetery (a few years ago) it was in very good shape-someone had been caring for it.Very secluded, so it has not been vandalized. Also, it is possible that the Johnsons are buried on the old Helms homestead.About a mile into the property, on an old, old road that is no longer in use, there are a number of very old graves. When I was younger, I used to wander the woods, and that's how I came upon them. This homestead no longer belongs to the Helms'-it was sold about 7 years ago (don't know to whom)-so I have no idea what shape the graves are in.If you would like more detailed directions, I can try to get them (I have no idea what they call the road I used to live on-it was a route number when I lived there).Louis-who are your parents? My grandfather was Clyde Helms, and my father was Vernon Helms-both are deceased and buried in Ingram Cemetery, north of Supply.
