I am of no relation. What I have is an artifact that was handed down to me by my husbands grandmother (whom just passed away a little over a yr ago at the age of 99). It is very old (1814 NY) and was hand done by a Sally Peny (she signed it with this exact spelling). Knowing that names got changed ALOT back then due to census takers and others not knowing how to read or write, I may be looking for this Peny to be spelled different. The only clues I have are the 1814 New York (she must have been there then) and the possibility that our grandmother aquired it in Ohio where she lived for most of her life. She and her husband owned a framing shop. I may be on a wild goose chase but so far I have not been able to trace this Sally to easily. One other thing, I have an artifact that is even older (earlier 1800's) that states it was done while in a boat. I only assumed it may be on the boat that she immigrated on.

Thank you for your help!!
Sheli
