My mother was born in Jacksonville in 1928. She and her family moved soon after that. However, my grandparents (Nathan and Amanda VanBever Willeford)had moved to Gravel Ridge in the 1930's. We were curious about whether Gravel Ridge was so small that it had disappeared or whether it still stood as a town since we had not been able to find it on any of our maps.
