Hello. Not knowing where you are, you may be interested in knowing that what was part of Prairie became Lonoke.
The county seat of Prairie which was Brownsville at that timein 1860 is now a sleepy community in Lonoke County, just maybe two miles from the county seat of Lonoke County. The final change happened in 1873 so keep that in mind.
You may loose J. W. Moore or his son quite easily if you do not know that.
Also, the lady I was going to suggest has a brother-in-law who is a Moore.
We are in the town ofLonoke in Lonoke County just about two miles from where J. W. Moore was probably stationed if he was in Prairie County. He may have also worked out of Des Arc which is still there and is on the White River. That is the now existing county seat for Prairie County.
This area I am speaking of is only about 25 miles out of Little Rock at this time though Prairie County nowadays shows up over in a slightly different area.
Good luck with your search!
