My gr3grandfather, John Cochran was born in Tennessee August 28, 1798 and died in Prairie County, Ark March 21, 1867. He is buried in the Cochran Family Cemetery in Lonoke Co, Ark. He was in the Pigeon Roost area of Prairie Co, Ark by 1838. He had the following children: Mary W, William H, James T, Samuel Hannah, George W, Sarah Jane, and Harriet Ann. I do not know of any of these Cochrans who were participants in the "Trail of Tears". There is reputedly "Indian blood" in my mother's family of which the Cochrans are a line. There was a report that Amanda Nancy Hudson, the wife of James T was of Indian lineage, but no proof. What is the source of your conjecture that the Cochrans were a part of the Indian removal of the 1800's? Doug Wilson
