John G. (Goodloe) Blakeney, born in SC, died December 14 1870 in Des Arc, Prairie County, Arkansas. He is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery, in Lonoke County, AR, and his headstone reads "John C. Blakeney, 1795 -1870", according to the history book for that area, when the cemetery was transcribed in 1956, but I think the "G" must have eroded, so that it looked like a "C", instead.

I cannot find his family listed for the 1870 Census, and would very much appreciate a look-up for them.

They came there from Clark County, MS, as some of his children were born in MS and some in AR.

His first cousin, James Thomas Blakeney, born 1797 in SC, and his wife, Martha Matilda Page Blakeney, born 1798 in SC, lived in Smith County, MS, and went to Des Arc at some point during that year, and they both died on December 25, 1870, and are buried, supposedly, "on a farm" there. Their son, Alvin Blakeney, born 1833 in Smith County, MS, died in 1897 there, also, but was taken back to Smith County, MS to be buried.

Any info on any of these people will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Rae Ellyn Hughes
