Beryl;

I am not related to this family, but have been looking to see if I could help.

The 1880 census, which I assume you have seen, shows grandchidren of Shadrack Moore, as Frank Hensley, Susan and Emma Hensley, I would think they would be siblings. The Hensleys and Moore family were in Cherokee County Texas, before 1880 as per various reports. Ancestry Family Trees, had Frank Hensley b 1862 Cherokee co. Texas, married Sarah A. Whisenhunt, b 1866 Siever Co. AR, who died in Mena Polk County. They are on the later census records in polk County.

J. Hensley 22 Alabama Farmer
Emily 19 AL

1870 AL Lawrence Co. Twp 8 Range 6 image 7/8
58/60 Olive Hensley 48 b AL

Emily Hensley 17 TX
Sarah " 15 "
Sam. C. 13 "
G.W. son 10 "

59/61 James Hensley 33 Farmer AL (Same family as in Cherokee County texas in 1850)
Emily 28 "
Frank 8 TX
Sarah 5 "
Mary 3 "

I believe this Frank, is the same one listed with Shadrack in 1880, and the others his sisters, and Emma age 10 is most likely the one who married the Caudle, which would have made him a grandson by marriage, I have not found him so far.

James Hensley might be related to Rufus Hensley who was in Cherokee County Texas in 1860, who was aged 44, b TN, children born in AL and then TX.

If any of this seems like it might fit, I will search a little more. You may already have all this.

Howard Boswell
