Robert Dorris and Addie Kahn were married 24 July 1899 in Ouachita Parish LA. Robert was age 21 and Addie age 15. Two months prior, 24 May 1899, an A. Kahn (or 'Kohn') was a "bond security" and "marriage witness" at the wedding of my grandparents, William Edward Dorris and Mary Josephine White. The following year, 1900, Robert and Addie Dorris are in the 1900 federal census in Ward 5, Ouachita parish LA, living close to Mary Josephine (White) Dorris' mother [Elizabeth (Buchan) White] and family. Both say they were born in Arkansas; Robert is age 22 (b. Apr 1878), Addie is age 16 (b. Jan 1884). According to the census, Robert was a "day laborer"; Addie stated that she did not read or write, and they rent their home. I'm seeking to identify both Addie's and Robert's ancestry and descendants. There is no further evidence of them in Ouachita Parish LA after the 1900 census that I can find. I have been unable to find Addie in an Arkansas census prior to 1900; (may have found Robert, but not clearly so). Robert's last name being the same as my grandfather's leads one to believe they were related, but there is no other evidence yet found. Would appreciate any info anyone might provide.
