1st marriage to Eliza Duke who was also born in Georgia. They had the following children:
James M. Hicks b. 1849 Alabama
Emily Hicks b. 1851 Georgia
Lucy J. Hicks b. 1852 or 3 Georgia
William Rufus b. Nov. 12, 1854 Georgia W. Rufus married Minnie Elowee Carroll on January 6, 1884 in Monroe County, Arkansas
Sometime between 1854 and 1857 Eliza (Duke ) Hicks died and William J. married Mary A. Davis Nov. 12, 1857 They had the following children:
John H. Hicks b. 1859 St. Francis County, Arkansas
Adolphus D. Hicks b. 1865 Monroe County, Arkansas (they did not move county line did)
Adolphus married Martha (Mattie) Dodd January 20, 1887 in Monroe County, Arkansas.
Mattie was b. August 19, 1869 in Brightstar, Arkansas
LeAnna Hicks b. 1867 Monroe County, Arkansas married P. C. Crow, Jr. Feb 1, 1884 Monroe County, Arkansas
Lee A. Hicks born 1867 (twin to LeAnna) In Monroe County, Arkansas married E. J. Jacobs Oct 11, 1891 Monroe County, Arkansas
Lela Hicks b. 1869 or 1870 Monroe County, Arkansas (died early age)
Mary Hicks b. 1872 Monroe County, Arkansas
Sometime after 1872 Mary (Davis) Hicks died and William J. married a Mary E. ???????
They had the following children:
Virginia Hicks b. 1875 Monroe County, Arkansas
Martha Hicks b. 1876 Monroe County, Arkansas
James Hicks b. 1879 Monroe County, Arkansas If anyone has any info on this family please, please help. My family seeems to be part of the Hicks' of Ooozerland, USA!!!!!!!!
