Thanks Emil!I actually have most of that information but I appreciate your reply.Gladys is my great-grandma.With all the information you have you probably already know about her.She is the daughter of James (who I have found probably went by Louis) and Linda Arminda Drake (who either went by Minnie or Mindie). They also had a son Encie b.1904? d.1907.Minnie died in 1906 and James remarried in 1907 to Minnie v. Helms.According to my great-grandma there is a half sister from the second marriage but I haven't looked into that information yet.James passed away in 1913 and the step-mother passed Gladys over as a ward of the state.Gladys married Jesse James Dunlap and lived in California until her death in 1989.
Because she was so young when both of her parents passed away, she did not have much informtion to pass on.We are told James' mother was a Cherokee Indian and that is about as much as we know of James' parents.I am seeking anything there is to know about them.I can't seem to find them on any record related to James.I don't have a death certificate for him and have been looking for a birth certificate for him but have had no luck finding it yet.
Can I ask if and how you are connected to this family?
If you need any more details for your records let me know and I can see if I have it. You seem to already have quite a bit of what I have though.
Thanks again!
