In 1870 your William Womack owned $2000 worth of real estate. That's quite a bit for that time. You probably need to check the deeds in Drew Co, AR to see when and how he acquired that land.
The only William Womack born ca 1838 in Illinois I can find is this one. But it looks like he was just a farm laborer in 1860 so it may not be your William Womack.

William Warmack 10 m IL
Sarah Warmack 7 f MO

Nancy Neal 5 f MO
This may be William Womack in 1860. There's also a Wesley Womack in Jefferson Co, AR who may be his brother show above. There are Shults in both households so it certainly implies a connection. I don't know what happen to the other Womacks shown in 1850.

Another possibility is that your William Womack is related to a John P Womack who patented land in Drew Co, AR in 1858. One plot of land was assigned to John P Womack andAjax Tyler by a Choctaw named E Lo Ma Chubee. Another plot was assigned to John P Womack and Jacob M Prewitt by a Choctaw named Tick But Tah. I can't find John P Womack on the census.
