Thanks for the info. I had not seen that posting by DeAnna because I had gotten oodles of John Halls on my first try, so entered in birth state "AR" and death state "OK" and that brought up all the tree listings except that of DeAnna, as she was the only one who showed that he died in San Juacin (sp?), CA (that's where Cynthia died)
Another researcher e-mailed me that John and Cynthia were married in Conway County. That is not unusual for folks in western Van Buren County back in those days, as they generally did much of their business, shopping, etc in Morrilton (county seat of Conway County) because the road to Clinton was very poor. Some people got their marriage license in Morrilton, got married in Van Buren County, then the marriage was recorded in Conway County.
By the way, my parents were going to college in Pope County, got their license there and got married here in Clinton, so their marriage is recorded in Pope County.
