Death:        Jul. 16, 1916

Montgomery County

Pvt. T. J. Ayers enlisted in 2nd Arkansas Infantry, Company "D", CSA in Marianna, Lee, AR on 6 May 1862 by Lt. Richards. He was on the muster roll for 30 June - 31 August 1864. His name appears on a Roll of Prisoners of War Exchange by order of Major General W. T. Sherman, Comdr., Military Division of the Mississippi Rough & Ready on 31 August - 1 Septembere 1864. He was captured near Jonesborough, Clayton, GA on 1 September 1864. He is identified on a muster roll for the above orgaization of Officers & Men paroled at Greensboro, NC. He was released on 28 April 1865. Thomas was married (1) Lucy Ann Bennett (2) Martha A. Love and (3) Louraney "Emily" Pate.
