Hi Glenda I have a couple with similar names!! John D Carver married Frances W Sanders 5 Jan 1838. The dates I'm using are from Frances' father's Bible records--James Gunnell Sanders(1777-1844 PickensCo AL). I am assuming marriage is in Pickens Co AL. Frances was born 13 Apr 1820. John D Carver in the 1840 Itawamba MS census on pg 306. 10001-00001 John D and Frances Carver in 1850 Franklin Co AL census p201 John D 37 yrs farmer born TN Frances 30yrs born AL (I believe she was born in NC or SC) James 12 yrs born AL William 10 yrs born AL Patience 8 yrs born AL Pleasant 6 yrs born MS John 3 yrs born MS Mary 1 yr born MS I haven't been successful in locating them in subsequent censuses. I did see the 1870 JD Carver in Sharp Arkansas but I couldn't swear that he was the same John D Carver because of lack of connection to Frnaces or children in 1850 census. I know that the children above were probably married and out of the household but I got tired of searching - couldn't find any of them in later censuses. Thanks for giving me hope. Nancy In reply to message from Glenda on the Carver Family Genealogy Forum I have a John D. Carver who was born abt 1815 in Tennessee. He arried Frances P. (unknown) from North Carolina. This family settled in Sharp County Arkansas. His daughter, Charlotte Arkansas Carver married my great grandfather, John Taylor Nichols. John Taylor Nicolds (misspelled) and his brother William H. Nichols both served in Company A of the 14th Tennessee Regiment during the Civil War. Interesting connection don't yo think? Notify Administrator about this message?
