Jan, thank you for the info but I now believe it's not the same Holden line. In a 1900 census from Blaine County, Oklahoma, shows my grandfather's siblings where the census you found doesn't. "John F." seems to be a popular name among the different Holden lines. I believe I finally found that his father's name is John, born August 1854, in GA. Evidently, his second wifes name was Minnie, and she had two children from a previous marriage, James A. Hawkins, born July 1896 and Calirea, birth unknown (she seems to have disappeared, maybe died?). My grandfather, Walter Scott Holden, and his siblings:
David Jackson, Cleve (Cleveland?), Roy, Harry (Harrison?), Rosetta, Texie, Anabelle (Annie), and Sallie (Sally). No idea what happened to their step-bro James.

Thank you for you time and efforts! Twila
