Topper,
I had a great break, then I moved on and go to the next brick wall Joel Sowers and Adeline Simmons. Then my celebration is short lived. I cannot find real proof of his parents. Her's I find the father and grandfather.
I have thought up a therory that the William D. Matheny,
William H. Dews and Joel Sowers, must of been bad boys. You know they type, the ones that when someone comes a knocking and they answer with the rifle pointed at your nose. Or they have a still deep in the woods and the feds are searching for them. The song thunder road is playing in the back ground.
I haven't checked Alabama Native American records. But I know that alot of white settlers married them in Alabama.
When I get some info from a cousin I will let you know.
Thanks Friend
Donna
