I have written several messages below on the Martin family but have also tried to work a little on the Maddox family.
In 1920 Jonesboro, Craighead, Arkansas I find the following:

L. E. Maddox 40 DC France France Telegrahp Operator
Rose May 23 TX MO MS

I feel sure that this is the right family but I doubt very seriously if the other info on him is correct. It was not unusual for a man to "become much younger" as he married a young woman. I also think he was born in Maryland and his father was born in Georgetown, District of Columbia.

I suspect that LeDoux was born in 1865 and is the son of Joseph Maddox (born DC abt 1824) and Laura (born Louisiana abt 1829). They appear to be a wealthy family living in Baltimore Maryland in 1870 and in Rockville, Montgomery, Maryland in 1880. Can't prove he is the right one, but my gut feeling is leaning in this direction.
