Hello to all Arkansas researchers, I hope there is someone out there that can help me find some of my allusive family members. I am looking for information on Norris Augusta Clark`s Parents and siblings. Norris was born in 1809 in Kentucky. Married Lucinda Jones, b: Kentucky. Came to Goshen, Washington Co., Arkansas (we don`t know when) and raised a family. Norris died Dec 29, 1869 and Lucinda Jones died Dec 9, 1873 both in Washington Co.,Arkansas Their Children where
(1)Benjamin F. Clark b: April 1, 1834 Conway County or City, Arkansas, m: Martha A. Count on March 22, 1855, b: Oct 13, 1838 in Madison County, Arkansas
(2) Susan H. Clark b:abt: 1836 Arkansas, m: Levi Phillips Oct 27, 1853, b: Jan 9, 1832 in Arkansas, son of David Phillips and Kittie Sanders
(3) Mary (Polly) Clark b: abt:1837 in Arkansas
(4) Nimrod Clark b:abt: 1839 in Arkansas
(5) John J. Clark b:abt: 1841 in Arkansas, m: Nancy (unk) b:abt:1846 in Tenn. both her parents where born in Tenn. too
(this is my line and I need more info on his children).
(6) Elizabeth M. Clark b:abt: 1843, m: Charles R. Phillips on Oct 25, 1860 in Washington County, Arkansas, b: March 1, 1836 in Madison County, Arkansas d:bef. 1869, son of David Phillips and Kittie Sanders (found this family in the 1850 census in Richland Township, Washington County)
(7) Richard M. Clark b:abt: 1845 in Arkansas
(8) Norris Clark b:abt: 1847 in Arkansas
(9) Ellery W. B. F. Clark b: Aug 22, 1852 in Washington County, Arkansas m: Ann Garrett on April 3, 1873 in Washington County, Arkansas.
John J. Clark and Nancy (unk) are my ggg-grandparents. They had children but the only one we know of is my gg-grandfather Nimrod B Clark b:est: 1862 in Goshen,Arkansas, m: Mary Oxford June 13, 1882 in Washington County, Arkansas b: abt 1866 in Oxford Bend, Washington County, Arkansas she died September 22, 1937 in Washington County and is buried in the Clark Cemetery in Washington County, Arkansas. Their children are
(1) Nancy (Nanny) Livonia Clark m: Walter Parks
(2) Oman Clark M: Cleta (unk)
(3) Inman Clark
(4) May Clark
(5) Joe A. Clark b:abt 1884
(6) Iva Myrtle or it is Myrtle Iva Clark, she was called Iva b:abt: 1897 d: 1935 m: Claude Arthur Clements in Springdale, Arkansas. This is my great grandparents. Iva Clark and Caude Clements are buried in the Gipson Cemetery in Neosho, Newton County, Missouri. Iva was said to be 1/2 Cherokee. You would think that with the unusal names that this family had that they would be easy to find. Not so.
