Descendants of Mary Alice Clements
Mary Alice Clements, daughter of Zadock Clyde (Zed) Clements and Rebecca Isabella (Belle) Chamblee, was born in Cass County, Texas April 24, 1875. She married in Cass County December 14, 1898 to William H. (Willie) Jones, son of John Jones. The mother of William is unknown. William was born in Georgia during November 1862. Mary is listed in the 1880 Cass county Census and again in the 1900 Cass County Census as the wife of William Jones. They were living in Miller County, Arkansas when the 1910 and 1920 Census was taken. The dates or locations for the deaths of William and Mary are unknown. It is likely that they died in Miller County but not verified. The genealogical trail grows cold after the birth of their children, of which five are known. One child, a son, died as an infant in Miller County, Arkansas about 1907.
1. Paul Richard Jones, son of William H. (Willie) Jones and Mary Alice Clements, was born, likely in Cass County, Texas, during December 1889. He is listed in the 1900 Cass County Census. He was in Miller County, Arkansas when the 1910 and 1920 Census was taken. After the 1920 Census he disappears from public information and can not be found. There are two Paul Richard Jones' found in the Texas Death Records. One died in Grayson County, Texas January 28, 1983 and the other died in Dallas County, Texas March 16, 1993. Which one, if any, are the correct individual in question is unknown.
2. William Clark Jones, son of William H. (Willie) Jones and Mary Alice Clements, was born, possibly in Miller County, Arkansas about 1900. There is a possibility that he may have been born in Cass County, Texas. He is listed in the 1900 Cass County Census. He was in Miller County, Arkansas when the 1910 and 1920 Census was taken. After the 1920 Census he, like so many in this family, disappears from public information and can not be found.
3. Lula M. Jones, daughter of William H. (Willie) Jones and Mary Alice Clements, was born, possibly in Miller County, Arkansas about 1905. She is listed in the 1910 and 1920 Miller County, Arkansas Census. After the 1920 Census she too disappears from public information and can not be found. There is a possibility that she may have been Lula Mary or Mary Lula Jones.
4. Virginia Adell Jones, daughter of William H. (Willie) Jones and Mary Alice Clements, was born in Miller County, Arkansas estimated at about 1916. She is listed in the 1920 Miller County Census. She married about 1935, possibly in Texas, to Luther Eugene Dudley. According to the Social Security Death Index he was born December 12, 1916, location unknown. His Social Security Number was issued in Texas. He died in Grover Beach, San Luis Obispo County, California during February 1978. It is unknown if Virginia has passed away. There is a Virginia Dudley listed in the Social Security Death Index that was born July 04, 1908 and died in Paradise, Butte County, California March 01, 1997. It is unknown if this is the same Virginia in question. One child is known to have been born to this union. She is Glenda Frances Dudley born in Hale County, Texas February 21, 1938. She is listed in the Vital Statistics of Hale County-Births for 1938. No further information has been found on this family.
