David P. Walker/Mary Fanning
Seeking info on descendents of David P. Walker (wife, Mary Fanning) who moved his family to the area of Madison Co. c1837, from Morgan Co., IL, along with other numerous families including Fannings, Houstons, Sharps, Lynchs, Youngbloods, Nelsons and etc.David and Mary had 5 children listed in the 1830 Morgan Co., IL census and had 10 children in the 1840 Madison Co., AR census.David died before 1850 probably in Madison Co. as Mary is enumerated with 5 of her children in 1850 War Eagle T.
David P. Walker and Polly Fannen were married 12/8/1821, in Lauderdale Co., AL.They were part of a large number of families that migrated from the TN/AL border area c1823/24, to Morgan Co., IL.Most of these families were either Fannings or relatives or neighbors of Fannings.Five Fanning brothers of Mary had migrated to IL (then Madison Co., IL), c1819, with Solomon Keltner from Giles Co., TN.The two single brothers, Abraham and Jacob, returned to TN c1822 where they both married 7/1822 and 9/1922 in Lawrence Co., TN.Abraham and Jacob then led the c1823/24 migration to IL.
In the meantime, Joseph Fanning Sr, Mary's father, migrated c1822 to the Madison Co., AR, area probably with Joshua Wharton.Joseph Sr had sons born c1821 AL, c1823 AR and c1827 IL.Prior to AR, Joseph was living in very northern Lauderdale Co., AL and Joshua in very southern Lawrence Co., TN, where Abraham and Jacob Fanning had married in 1822.There is possibly a connection between Joseph's last wife, Mary, and Joshua Wharton.A citation in Madison Co., AR, stated that Joseph Fanning resided on Whortons Creek with Josiah (Josuha?) Wharton prior to 1827 which would match Joseph's sons birth years and birth places.Joseph Sr moved c1825/26 to Morgan Co., IL, to join his 6 older sons there. But Joseph Sr returned to Madison Co., AR, in the later 1830's as he was enumerated there in 1840.Still later c1842, Joseph Sr went to Franklin Co., AR, with Thomas Sharp and family plus some of the Gage family and others.
I have only been able to somewhat account for 3 of the 10 children of David and Mary Walker - the oldest sons, Alfred and Lewis A.,and the youngest daughter, Matilda Walker Simpson Killian.Mary Fanning Walker and Alfred later moved to Collin Co., TX, where she died in 1883.She is listed on Find A Grave as is Matilda Killian, also some Walker and Killian grandchildren.Anyone know what Simpson male Matilda married before 1840 in Madison Co?She married Solon B. Killian in 1866 in Collin Co., TX.
Does anyone have any female ancestors named Eliza (bc1830 IL), Martha (bc1832 IL) or Mary (bc1834 IL) whose maiden names are unknown? Those 6 listed above are the only children that I have given names for except for David, listed as Weth, in the 1860 Madison Co., AR, census.
Any info much appreciated.
