Joy, in Walnut Grove Cemetery, I think there are at least a couple of Thompsons buried. I have looked at and wondered about one particular Thompson family that I know had a daughter named Rhoda, based on two censuses, born about 1864. No mention of the name Myrtle, however, and the censuses give the middle initial "D." The parents died in Madison County, and the name Rhoda, too, eats a little at me. But I haven't found follow-through for this Rhoda past the 1870 and 1880 census with her living with her parents in the city of Valley. The name of this Rhoda's father is Rodden Thompson (20 Aug 1813-13 Dec 1885), born in Tennessee. The mother is named Mary, with the maiden name Gipson and a middle initial of "E." It looks as though Rodden had about fourteen children between wife Mary Ann "Polly" Thurman and second wife Mary Gipson. In my wildest dreams, there'd be some proof that this Rhoda and my Myrtle Rhoda are one in the same. :/ At least a couple of Rodden's children seem to be buried in Walnut Grove.
