Hello,
I've never seen any maps for the 1840 time period. I don't believe there were ever any maps like this. The closest thing I can think of are plats by the Section and Township that show who received land patents, either by homestead entry or cash entry, from the government. These maps can be found in a book titled "Family Maps of Madison County, Arkansas" by Gregory A. Boyd. We have a copy of that book in our Historical Society's library in Huntsville, Arkansas.
