Howard,
I am interested in seeing whatever you think is a match.
I think I have found George Wesley Belle and Fina on the 1870 Federal Census in Jackson Co, IL . He appears as Wesley BELLE and she appears as Josepheen. They are living in the home of a Thomas Harrison, his wife Mary and their children. It shows him born in IL, but other census shows him from Tenn and KY. It shows Josephine as being born in TN, as Mary Harrison. I know she was born in KY.
Does anything you found place them in ARkansas? Especially interested in the stukff about his brothers draft papers. I have never known who his parents or siblings may have been.
