Thanks for the reply Joy but I don't see the connection with those Wilcox's.According to my research Julia Matilda daughter of Caleb Smith Hankins married a Dan Jones 1st. Julia was at home in the 1870 census and at home in the 1880 census but her name was Julia M. Jones. I don't know what became of that marriage but she is in the 1900 census in White River Twp., Madison Co. Married to Samuel A. Wilcox. They have 3 children Albert, Walter and a girl that I can't make out the name of in that census record. I find no trace of them after that.I find Albert and Walter Wilcox in McIntosh Co., Okla. listed as orphans.
My thoughts are there was a tragedy that took the parents but have not got a clue.I don't know what become of the daughter.Sam A. Wilcox was married 1st to a Nancy Bowman and was listed with her and her brother and a daughter Laura and son Hicks Wilcox in Bates co. Mo. in the 1880 census. If you have anything at all on Julia Matilda Hankins it would sure help.Pleasant Hankins was my Gr Grandfather, & Caleb was his father.
