1899 Whorton Death Notice
I found the following death notice in the Trenton Evening Republican (Trenton, Grundy County, MO) dated Monday Evening, April 3, 1899:
"John Henry Whorton Killed.
A letter has been received in Trenton announcing the death of a noted Grundy county character, John Henry Whorton, by accident some days ago.Whorton was riding horseback when the animal, a mustang pony, fell upon him inflicting fatal injuries, the details of which are not known. It occurred somewhere near St. Paul, Arkansas, and was reported by some former Grundy county people living near that place."
The above John Henry Whorton (b.abt. 1855) believed to be a son of James "Leonard" and Nancy "Adaline" Boon Whorton. After Adaline died in 1880, Leonard remarried and moved from Grundy County, MO, to Arkansas.Maybe Madison County. Leonard died 1898-99 and supposedly buried in the Boston Cemetery.
Anyone researching this Whorton [email protected]
