Myers, Harris, Henderson, Edwards
This is actually a couple of queries all in one message, all for Madison County.
First,
HENDERSON & VAUGHAN-- I'm trying to find the Cherokee ancestry of Mary F. Henderson (or Stroud) listed below. Also the names of her parents and whether she was a Stroud or
Henderson by birth. She was 1/4th Cherokee Indian and her parents were born
in Missouri. She lived most of her life in Madison County, AR. I'd love
to see a picture of her, also. Anyone with any information on this line,
please e-mail me at [email protected]

Second,
EDWARDS/MCQUISTON/MCCUISTON : Looking for information on Edward Edwards, born in England or Wales, who immigrated to the United States and became a railroad engineer. He married Dorothy Elizabeth McQuiston, daughter of Israel and Hannah (Lusk) McQuiston, probably in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Edward and Dorothy had 4 children, before he died in a train accident in January of 1883, when Dorothy was 6 months pregnant with their youngest child, May Florence Edwards.
Dorothy moved to Gove County, Kansas with three brothers, this was where May was born on April 4th, 1883. Later, Dorothy moved to Madison County, Arkansas with her brother Joseph and his family. May married Calvin Leroy Vaughan and the young couple lived with Dorothy. Dorothy died sometime after 1900. Seeking the names of Dorothy's other children and place and date of her death. Also seeking any information on Edward Edwards, such as his birth and death dates, and when he came to the United States and from where. He may have died in the train wreck in West Chester, PA on January 3rd, 1883.
I'm also looking for any information on Dorothy's ancestry, I know the names of her parents on back on the McQuiston side, but not the names of the parents of the spouses who married into the McQuiston line, such as her mother, Hannah Lusk. Dorothy's earliest known ancestor is John McCuiston and Isabella Crelon, both of Ireland. Their son Robert was born in Derry County, Ireland in 1710 and immigrated to the United States.
Third,
Harris/Myers
Looking for information on Geer or possibly Gun (Gunter?) Harris, born about 1831 in Tennessee, his parents both born in Kentucky. On 1880 Benton County Census, Osage Township, he is shown living with his wife Mary, born 1839 in TN, her folks also born in KY. Their children listed in 1880 were Buck, born 1858 in Missouri, Boid, born 1863 in Missouri, Sophrona, born 1867 in MO., General, born 1868 in Arkansas, Harrison, born 1872 in Arkansas and Arthur, born 1876 in Arkansas. Apparently the family lived in Missouri from at least 1858 to 1867, coming to AR around 1868. I'm searching for ANY information on this line, as I suspect Sophrona is the same person as Sophornia Belle Harris, my great grandma, who lived in Marble, Madison County, Arkansas from the late 1800s until her death sometime between 1910 and 1920. Marble township in Madison County borders Benton County, Arkansas. She married William Sim (Simon?) Myers about 1884. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Also looking for information on William Sim Myers, who appears as Simon or Simie Myers or Mires. He was born about 1862 either in Tennessee or Indiana and by 1884 he was living in Arkansas, and married Sophornia Belle Harris. They lived in Marble, Madison County, Arkansas and raised 6 children, Myrtle, Walter, Essie, James Edward, Bertha and Irvin Lee. Sophornia died sometime between 1910 and 1920 in Madison County. William Sim (or Simon) died sometime after 1920. His parents were either born in Indiana or Tennessee, according to the census. Not much else is known about him, from the one photo of him, he had blond hair and blue or green eyes. Sophornia was dark haired and eyed, perhaps part Indian? Would like to know where both were from, their parents' names and dates of both their births and deaths.
