There is a Thomas (Tom) Boals, Feb 21, 1878 - Aug 14, 1973, buried in Shiloh Cemetery, Monroe Co., AR. The cemetery is listed as about 1 1/2 miles south of Hwy 79.
Perhaps your best bet would be to find him in the 1920 census and track back from there.
