Brinkley is in Monroe Co, AR, and according to "Arkansas Place Names by Ernie Deane, it was named for Hugh Brinkley, one of the builders of the Memphis & Little Rock Railroad. That line became a part of the Missouri Pacific.
Also crossing at Brinkley were the St. Louis Southwestern and the Chicago, Rock Island, and Pacific. The town was incorporated in 1872.
Try the Tri-County Genealogical Society at P. O. Box 580, Marvell, AR 72366. It covers Lee, Monroe and Phillips Cos.
