Janice, Hey....you could be right of course about Preston's parents....and the names of the children. Altho Preston B. was born in 1820 in Ar. (no one knows where in AR tho)Raymond's book ALSO listed Jarrett and Syntha as POSSIBLE being from the Jarrett/Mary Slinker lineage.....as well as being listed with the James Brickey/Lydia Vicars family...Raymond did not know where Jarrett and Synthia belonged...he was just guessing of course......but could be a very good guess. And as far as Hester....I just don't know....but you could very well be onto something there with the Parsley/Pasley....sure am curious what you might find out there! One other thing tho. The JAMES Brickey who married Lydia Brickey is not the same man that went to Arkansas and married to Synthia Jeffrey.....James Brickey, husband of Lydia Vicars died in 1832-1834. JARRETT Brickey who married Cythia lived until the 1860's or so. ~~~~~~~ The following information proves that as far as I am concerned: "On 4 May 1832, "Lidia Brikeys" signs a note to Mercer Count y, Kentucky court to decline to act as administrator of he r "late husband James Brickey decd" and asks the court to a ppoint Silas Myers. Was witnessed by Henry Banta and Jess e Brickey. On 27 Feb 1834 James Brickey's probate divides land betwee n 8 children: Bitsy (or Betsy) Lawson, Jesse, James, Sara h, Polly, Isaac, Peter and John. Our Peter received lot 7 , w. of & adjoining lot 6 and paper gives dimensions and bo undaries, plus a diagram. Land is in Mercer County, Kentuc ky, on the south side of the Kentucky River about 1-1/2 mil es above the mouth of Shawnee Run and adjoining lands of Be njamin Daniel ( from whom James and Lydia originally purcha sed the land on 10 Dec 1830), the Shakers and Reuben Munday . On 13 Jan 1832 James and Lydia had sold small parcels o f the original land to the Shakers. On 9 Sep 1834 Silas Myers settled his accounts as administr ator of James Brickey's estate, mentioning "Mrs. Lydia Bric key, Polly Brickey, Sarah Brickey, Isaac Brickey and Jess e Brickey individually and as guardian of your brothers Jam es and Peter". This was signed by Lidda Brickey, Polly Bric key, Sarah Brickey, Isaac Brickey and Jesse Brickey as havi ng received the notice." In any case......I am still hoping that somewhere there is a record that can be found that will link this Preston B. Brickey for sure to the main branch of the Brickey families......and I do suspect that it is the Jarrett and Synthia family....even tho he is not on any of the census with them.......I really do think he is the oldest son of Jarrett/Synthia....who had already left home by the time the 1850 census started listing wives and children...... Anyway, I thank you for answering the post, and I do hope you have success with Hester Ann's parentage.there are a lot of people who would sure like to know, me included. And yes, that Steve is the brother of Bill Brickey I mentioned.they're brothers....and they are descended from Preston B. and Hester through the son, Hamilton Brickey.
