Hello Eric,
I want to thank you for offering to do the look up in the Lawrence County History.
My question may be rather straight forward: Was there a county or state prison/jail in Walnut Ridge, Lawrence County in 1925? If so what was/is the name so I can try to track down some records? I am trying to determine the circumstances surrouding the death of one Homer Lee Stevens in Walnut Ridge on September 6, 1925. Family tradition says he died in jail as the result of a fight but the Death Certificate is unclear on this point.
