The connection of the Whitney and Weems families are as follows: Lafayette County
Arkansas Marriages: Peter CASTINDO, age 40 to Malinda Weems, age 20 May 21,l862 (this was his second marriage) and later to Josephine Whitney on July 17, 1870. What happened to Malinda Weems is not definitely known. Later a Frank Castinado married Mary
Weems in 1872 in Lafayette County. This Frank Castinado family moved into Miller County before 1880 and is shown with sons
Elisha, William and Robert. A granddaughter of this family said the family name was changed to Fedd and the descendents always
went by the name of Fedd from that date on.
Why is not known. The Whitney and Fedds are
shown on census records in Miller County
after the time of the 1880 census. Bobbie
