Good to hear from you. Here's what I have:
Joseph H. Boles
Birth 1841 in Cedartown, Polk, Georgia, USA
Death 1877 in Piney Fork, Sharp, Arkansas, USA
Married Margaret Elizabeth Brown, 29 December 1864, Cedartown, Polk, Georgia, CSA.
Civil War: Pvt/1st Sergeant, Co D, 21 Georgia Infantry, Confederate.M226 roll 6 - Appointed 1st Sergeant December 13, 1862 . Wounded at Charlestown, W. Va. August 21, 1864 . No later record. Joseph enlisted 27 Jun 1861,
Age: 20, Cedartown, Polk Co, GA, CSA.
Boles Cemetery is located about 3.3 miles west of the well in Evening Shade, AR on property once owned by Jesse Masters. There are two turns before reaching the cemetery. The road turns south in Evening Shade. Take the first right and follow to the Izard County line. The cemetery is in a pasture on the right and difficult to see from the road. Large trees are in the cemetery, and it is unfenced. Most of the stones have been knocked down by livestock or equipment. A record of all the stones that could be found was made during a 1971 and 1988 visit. Joseph Boles lived on the property in 1870, and I assume the cemetery is named for him.
1870 Arkansas Census:Evening Shade Post Office, Piney Fork Township, Sharp County, Arkansas, USA
Joseph Bowles (29 farmer Ga), Margaret E. (24 Ga), Edward (4 Ga), Charles (3 Ga), Mary (15 Ar, sister to Elizabeth), living next door to Thomas Brown (relationship?).
Moved family from Cedar Town, Polk Co, Georgia to Piney Creek, Sharp Co, Arkansas in 1868.
