Researching a family that lived in Batesville AR starting between 1926 and 1930 onward. Before that they were in nearby Baxter and Marion counties. Gerald Allen Plant (1876-1938) married Irene May Hudson (1881-1930) and had one son Gerald Allen "Jerry" Plant (1919-1972). Gerald Sr., wife Irene and son Jerry are buried in the same section of Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville.
I am trying to determine who Gerald Allen Plant Jr. (changed his middle name from Berry to Allen in later life) married. He died in Los Angeles but was brought back to AR for burial. His death certificate states that he was divorced. In 1949 he was living in Cedar Rapids IA.
The informant on his death certificate is Irene Mikesell. I believe this to be his mother, and this would indicate that she remarried after the death of her first husband Gerald Allen Plant in 1938. There is an Erwin Leo Mikesell buried in Oaklawn Cemetery. His birth and death dates suggest he could have been the second husband. He was divorced previously.
Anyone able to check marriage records from 1938 onwards for the PLANT surname in Independence Co AR? How about death records for Irene Plant/Mikesell (died 1980) and/or Erwin Leo Mikesell (died Oct 1978)?
Any information on these folks would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to confirm that Irene married a Mikesell and to determine who Gerald A. Plant Jr. married and if he had children.
