I thought I'd let people know that the 1850 online census for Independence Co. is far from complete. (You can find it on Census Online and Census Finder among other sites.)
There is only one line for Ruddell Township included at the very end of page 00375. It's missing 25 pages for Ruddell Township (376a-388a) and 15 pages for Batesville Township (389a-396a).
I let the people in charge know about this and they were grateful for the information, but I must admit that I'm at a loss to understand how this went unnoticed for so long, especially when you consider that this census has been online for 6 years.
So, if you're like me, and you'd checked this census transcription for your ancestors and couldn't find them I suggest that you try to find a complete census. If you have an Ancestry subscription you're in good shape, otherwise it's probably at your state library.
