The 1840 Census of Hot Springs Co., shows a BENJAMIN CARVER heading a household age 40-50, wife 30-40, and 2 fenales and 1 male 15-20, 1 male 10-15, 1 male and 1 female, 5-10, and 2 males under 5.
Listed on the same page are several Clift households.
Can anyone help identify this Benjamin Carver? Was he the same as the son of THOMAS CARVER (1757-1821)and CLARA (perhaps CLARY CLIFT). Thomas was born in Stafford Co., VA and died in Wilson Co., TN. BENJAMIN CARVER married NANCY LUMPKIN in WCT, 2-6-1822. They had 3 children by 1826. He apparently left the family and disappears from Wilson Co.
Were the CLIFT families of Hot Springs Co. from Stafford Co. VA?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
