My ggg grandfather, John HAMMONDS, is now shown as my most distant known ancestor.He was born about 1760, place unknown - possibly Virginia Colony, and died after 27 Jul 1820 in Lincoln County, KY.He married (1) Polly (or Mary) DENNEY 3 Sep 1782 in Wilkes County, NC. She was a daughter of Samuel DENNEY and Sarah SOUTHARD, born about 1763 in Surry County, NC, and died about 1797 in Wilkesboro, Wilkes County, NC. He then married (2) Rachel Rebecca JOHNSON about 1797. She was a daughter of Thomas JOHNSON Jr. and Rachel (Maiden Name Unknown), born 6 Feb 1764 in North Carolina, and died about 1835 in Texas.
