the following is from Hempstead County, Arkansas Cemeteries Book 5.
Sixteenth Section Graveyard contains only a few tombstones. It is located on what was probably Abraham Stuart land, on the old military road which ran from Washington through the area to Fulton.
The late Crit Stuart Sr. wrote that "the Sixteenth Section of Township 11 Range 26W is the highest point in this vicinity and it was here that Abraham Stuart together with his family and mother seyyled in 1818.Because of an Indian Mound it is referred to in records as Prairie Mound. In a cemetery on this mound is where Lucinda and Samuel Hopson, Abraham and wife as well as his mother are buried. Most of the markers were bois d'arc slabs with dates carved on.In the early 1920s a grass fire destoyed most of the slabs and charred others so that dates were obliterated.Prior to that time I had been in the cemetery many times and had gotten dates. The ones I have record of include Sarah Fulkerson, died 2 Dec 1835 and Abraham Stuart d 1836"
Possible burials
Stuart, Abraham177223 Aug 1836
Mary Kuykendall17605 Aug 1835.
