Faye,
Thank you for the response.I was hoping to tie this Stuart/Stewart family to a John Stewart and Catherine ________ Stuart that is located on the Robertson Co.,TN 1850 census, with following persons in household; 1) Newton (abt.1831); 2) Sarina (abt.1840); 3) Nancy (abt 1841); 4) Fredonia T. (1842); and 5) Francis (1848). The birth years are estimated from age given on census, except for Fredonia T..She was my great grandmother and I have other sources for her birth. From the census I estimated John Stewart to be born abt 1805 and Catherine abt. 1817.
Some records indicate John Stuart/Stewart (father of Abraham) may have settled in Robertson Co., TN and migrated across Red River to Christian Co., KY at one time.According to my info, John died in abt. 1805 in Robertson Co. and widow Sarah (Fulkerson) Stuart moved to Hempstead Co., AR with son Abraham in abt. 1818.
Since the Stuart/Fulkerson relations is so well known and researched, I had hoped to find something that tied the John Stuart/Stewart and wife Catherine to them, but nothing positive yet, except for proximity.
There is another John Stewart on the 1820 census for Robertson Co., TN, betw age 26-45.I am thinking he may be the father of the John Stewart on the 1850 census. The ages of the members of the household seem to fit.
I'll appreciate any help anyone can give give me.
